This genealogy includes all Polish relatives of Craig Sharrow discovered thru April 17, 2002 (so this page is very out of date).
My mother, Marie Elizabeth Prebicin's parents were Jozef Przybycien and Marya Miarecki. Marya was from a town in Gorlice, Tarnow, Malopolski, Poland (then part of Galicia, Austria) called Szymbark. Jozef was from a neighboring village called Siary.
By chance, the Church of Latter Day Saints had created a set of microfilms of the birth, marriage, and death records of the Parish of Matki Boskiej Szkalperznej (Mother of God), in Szymbark, from the years 1776-1900.
It is from these records that I have extracted the names of over 690 relatives.
At this time this genealogical investigation is unfinished. In the GEDCOM file and the records on this website I use the nomenclature "Unknown Sr" and "Unknown Jr" as a surrogate for an as yet undiscovered ancestor of various individuals. Any individuals with a common surname and a probable or actual date of birth that falls within a generational time period, and whose actual parents are currently unknown have been assigned to a single "Unknown" ancestor. In actuality, these "siblings" may have been the offspring of different "uncles" or more distant relatives with the same surname.
Definition of terms used below: Register is a narrative format. Chart is a graphical tree with boxes.
The Charts and Registers are in PDF format requiring the free Adobe Acrobat Reader program
(Note: The spelling of some names in the PDF charts will have incorrect characters, rather than correct Polish characters such as small superscript "3" instead of "³", or "1" instead of "¹" because the program used to create the Acrobat files would not support the Polish character set. Please refer to the Surname List below for correct spelling of names.
